Yes there’s a toll-free telephone number and eHarmony doesn’t want you to know it. It accepts calls from customers from eHarmony US, eHarmony Canada, eHarmony Australia, eHarmony UK and Compatible Partners. The number is in this URL http://www.eharmony.com/singles/servlet/press/contacts, and I searched the entire site and found no page linking to it. Sneaky, huh?

The customer service telephone number is 1-800-648-9548.

They are open every day between 6am and 11pm PST 24 hours a day between 4am and 12am PST. Be ready to wait though.

The best time to call is from 9am to 11am.

UPDATE: These numbers are also for the Compatible Partners website.

UPDATE 3-Oct-2008: eHarmony’s new customer service telephone number is 1-800-951-2023.

UPDATE 24-Oct-2008: Another number is 1-800-390-3548.

UPDATE 15-Nov-2008: Want another one? 1-800-263-6133

UPDATE 25-Jul-2009: Want a fourth? 1-800-673-3548

UPDATE 9-Nov-2009: For the UK? 0-800-028-0308. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. GMT

Now that you’re here (or simply while you’re waiting to be connected), we invite you to check the rest of eHarmony Blog out. Thanks for stopping by!

UPDATE: For Australia? eHarmony Australia has no local toll free number. Yeah they’ve been around since December 2007 and still have no local phone number. Don’t hold your breath for it.

Actually, I’d say be careful to review each page of any website from which you are purchasing something. Watch for the check boxes that subscribe you to magazines, newsletters, etc. I got caught in one myself just by checking out a website. I ended up with tons of email from companies I never heard of selling things I neither wanted nor needed.

There’s a check box on the subscription page that lets you opt out of the magazines. eH customer service reps do not have access to the magazine subscriptions, so if you don’t want them, it’s best to be extra careful when subscribing and opt out in the very beginning.
