Free Communication Weekend 19 extended until Tuesday

I hope that two more days will make a difference — for subscribers, for non-subscribers, or for eHarmony’s bottomline. The extension is only for eHarmony US and Compatible Partners, not eHarmony UK.

Try Compatible Partners for free

If you ask our perspective, well, Google Analytics tells us we had 32.4% more visitors yesterday compared to last Saturday. That’s typical for a second-to-the-last day of an FCW. Before we saw the extension announcement, we were expecting 30%-50% more traffic today, compared to last Sunday.

With the onslaught of TV advertising promoting this prolonged free event, eHarmony users can very well assume that if a match doesn’t reply this FCW, they never will. Ah, such is life.

Meanwhile this extension lets us bring the slowpokes to full OC. Enjoy the extension, guys!

I am not aware of what sort of media blitz they have been doing but I am not seeing a whole lot of difference that the extra days earlier in the week added towards me as a subscriber getting more matches to respond to (nor do I think that these extra two will really help).

    1) Steady 7 matches a day, maybe one or two more
    2) I only had four new matches today after a steady seven a day for nearly a month. Looks like my pool is drying up again. It shouldn’t be, with all the interest the weekend should have created or it dried up and the seven was carry over from folks who signed up earlier in the week
    3) I have only had ONE match ask to bypass the guided communication and go to e-mail (in their first set of answers of all places) of all the matches I’ve been communicating with. This is not the usual for a FCW. As soon as they get to OC or even earlier, they want to move to e-mail, right?

On the other hand, I’ve had several matches go to OC. They are not asking for e-mail addresses, so it would seem to makes sense that they are already members and have nothing to do with the FCW. I am not sure why with such a long FCW, one wouldn’t first try the service and then subscribe afterwards…

From my perspective with this being the longest US FCW I can recall, I think that I am reaching the conclusion that that the FCW model flat out just doesn’t work to convert non-subscribers. I see a LOT of women looking at my profile and strangely, none of those lookers bother to answer questions/respond. Very strange indeed. They can’t even give it away…or…all these non-responsive profiles are just lookers. They are already dating someone and are looking to “upgrade”. Or, they are not even remotely serious. If they were, they could use the icebreakers to feel things out and see how many potentials they could get with a subscription. Lately, it seems to me that there are just too many people just looking at online dating and aren’t serious and even the ones that communicate aren’t serious, either.

My subscription ends on Thursday. Looks like I’ll be purging a ton of matches later than I was originally hoping to do and preparing to wrap things up.

I hope the rest of you had better results than I did.
