The paid-yet-have-a-free-weekend-every-month business model is working fantastically for eHarmony, because here it is again. According to Brad of Little Red Rails, the upcoming four-day event is for the US and Canada locales.
Get ready to turn your matching on (or off, depending on how you look forward to these things).
Tip: FCW participants cannot initiate, accept or reject FastTrack (aka “Skip to Email”), so don’t initiate FastTrack with them this weekend or communication would be stuck.
Members who register today in eHarmony US, in eHarmony Canada and in Compatible Partners will get 5 free days to look, review, communicate and email their matches. No credit card is required.
IMPORTANT: You must register today and finish the questionnaire today, February 24, 2010.
Everybody, this is just for today. I don’t think there’s an occasion and I don’t think eHarmony has done this thing before.
eHarmony UK registrants, hold off on your credit cards! eHarmony UK offered some members today a incentive to return to the site and communicate with their “highly compatible across 29 dimensions” matches. Read the rules below.
Summary:
1. 7 days free: February 5-11
2. 4 days free: February 12-15 (free communication weekend)
3. 28 days free: February 16-March 15 (to those who qualify)
Interesting (desperate?) way to get things going and raise site traffic. I hope it works.
The entire 2009 showed big paid sites with less worldwide traffic than 1 year ago or decaying in traffic.
It is not due to economic downturn or the traction of social networking sites.
Social networks of the "Western World" - except Facebook- : MySpace, Hi5, Friendster, FriendFinder, Bebo, Fot …
UK members received an announcement today that the next free communication weekend (Valentines 2010) starts on Friday 12 February and ends Monday 15 February. Very likely this schedule will apply to all country sites.
UPDATE: “Advance Notice” emails say that US, Canada, Australia and Compatible Partners will have their FCW from Thursday to Monday, February 11-15.
Get ready to turn your matching on (or off, depending on how you look forward to these things).
Tip: FCW participants cannot initiate, accept or reject FastTrack (aka “Skip to Email”), so don’t initiate FastTrack with them this weekend or communication would be stuck.
eHarmony’s Email Marketing Specialist is probably a guy. C’mon eHarmony, proofread your email newsletters and get two people to look at them before you send them out — preferably by one male and one female staff.
Forget the proofreading. All I could do was roll my eyes at the drivel that serves as content.
I was sincerely hoping to find a gem as to why I seem to be stuck with women that appear to be interested and then just disappear. If you aren't interested, wouldn't it be easier to just say so inst …
A typical high-quality television commercial costs $200,000 to $400,000 to make, plus fees to celebrity endorsers. So, how do you make them cheap in this tough economy? Solicit home-made videos from your customers (by running a contest of course), then use their footage and pay them nothing.
Why did eHarmony go this low? According to eHarmony, their new television campaign is aimed at the skeptics who think that the couples appearing in commercials are actors. Unfortunately, the skeptics were impervious to this.
For more washed-out talking heads, see eHarmony’s Youtube channel.
We covered their Facebook page earlier…, but don’t worry, we didn’t roast them about it.
Good job, adam. We're glad we could help. Tell your friends ... and matches ... about the site. Good luck in your search. …
